I think I’m lucky because there are a lot of people in the world who go through horrible things in their lives. And I don’t. Maybe you think you’re lucky because you have a dog, or you don’t have a lot of homework, etc. But I’m talking about having a home, clothes, food, an education, and a family that loves you. You can’t live without those things.
First I’m lucky because I have an education. I know it’s against the law to not go to school. So every kid does get educated in the U.S at least a little bit. I’m lucky because I don’t just have an education. I have a great one. Not only a great education. I have amazing teachers and classmates. Mr. Wells says if he’s ever strict it’s because he really cares about us. My classmates are so nice too.
Secondly I’m lucky to have a home to live in. A lot of people live on the street. I could easily be that person. But I’m not. This makes me realize I’m so lucky. I have seen people on the side of roads begging for money. And the worst part is, it’s not only one person. There are entire families on the sides of those roads. And hundreds of those families. And I’m not one of those people. Most of those people are suffering. Because without a home, life is tough. Really tough. One time was when I saw a person with a sign that said “ Have family. No home. No job. Need money.” Another time was when I saw a man with a cup that said “Need money. I’m homeless.” And I thought, I’m lucky. Really lucky.
Third of all I am healthy. I’m lucky because I’m healthy. When I hurt my foot I could get help to heal it. Some people probably couldn’t get help. Imagine having a broken foot for your whole life because you couldn’t get help. Or when I had to get my tonsils out. I couldn’t breath as well, so I had to get my tonsils out. I get to go to a doctor anytime I need to or a couple times a year. Life can be really tough when you have health issues. Sometimes you can’t even fix a health issue. Some kinds of cancer you can’t fix. So I’m REALLY lucky.
Fourth of all, and most importantly, I have a loving family. My family loves me and I love them. I can’t imagine life without my family. My brother is hilarious. One time when he was little he was excited to go to the bathroom. Why? I have no idea. I was in my parents room when I heard him yell “I need to go to the bathroom!!!!!!!!!!” I was laughing as hard as I possibly could when he ran into my parents room. I saw him speed into the bathroom when- Splash! Head first into the toilet. Maybe the funniest moment of my life. And my mom cheers me up. When ever I’m down she makes me happy. And my dad gives the best hugs. When you say you know someone who gives the best hugs, and it’s not my dad, you’re wrong. Some people don’t have a loving family. Some people don’t have a family that can take care of them. The worst of all, some people don’t have a family at all.
I’m lucky. Most people don’t have a amazing education. I do. Most people don’t have a home. I do. Most people aren’t healthy. I am. Most importantly, most people don’t have a family. I do. This all shows that I’m lucky. And it’s not just me. Most of my friends are just as lucky as me. I wish that everybody was as lucky as me and my friends. But it doesn’t work out that way.
